About Carolyn

My path to becoming a therapist began in social work. In my early twenties, I worked in the Child Welfare System, supporting children and families as they navigated complex challenges. The work was rewarding and harrowing, and it prompted me to focus on my own mental wellness. I sought counseling and was fortunate to find a wonderful therapist. She helped me make sense of my experiences, develop strategies that worked for me, and, most importantly, experience the healing power of EMDR.

I’ve been a licensed counselor for over 14 years, and I find the work incredibly meaningful. I’ve worked with children, families, and adults in a range of settings, including in-home care, community mental health, substance use treatment facilities, and Hospice.

I currently have a private practice focused on using my EMDR expertise to provide high-quality therapy and training. My office is in the Gateway Area of Pinellas County, making it easily accessible to the greater Tampa Bay community. I offer telehealth counseling to residents of Arizona and Florida. I’m also an Approved Consultant with EMDRIA, providing skilled training, coaching, and consultation to fellow therapists looking to further their proficiency with EMDR.

Things I love outside the office

Sunset over a calm river with small grassy islands, viewed from a walkway with a rope fence on the right side, and trees in the distance.
A woman riding a bicycle down a winding path surrounded by lush trees and plants.
Woman standing outdoors, smiling, wearing a wide-brimmed hat, white sleeveless top, sunglasses, and pointing at colorful quilted art displayed on a fence. Hobbies, self-care, work-life balance.
A purple water lily flower with yellow center blooming among green lily pads on a pond.
